Utrillo's big buns at the L'Orangarie

Monet's Nymphemas at L'Orangarie

L'Orangerie is best appreciated when you take someone there for the first time. We know this because my brother, Simon, took us to this small museum in 1992 - not telling us anything prior to our visit! We live with the magic of our encounter with Monet's water lilies every day now.....only enhanced when - like today - we bring our friend, Bronwyn, to enjoy this extraordinary delight. Jim says it is like.."seeing water lilies in a dream and you know it is not a dream...." something like that.

Restaurants we like

4. Bistro Romain, Fountaine des Innocente along the Marais Walk
This Italian restaurant chain can be found all around Paris. Keara likes it because she can count on getting something gluten-free - entrecote avec les haricote verte. I like it because I can count on getting something vegetarian - pepper and olive pizza! Keara likes the wine - Chateau de Sevil AOC Grava (Bordeaux).

Xan & Fras will like this one!

3. Cafe Madame - near Luxembourg Gardens
Construction workers take time from their busy day to have a glass of wine and eat lunch here
We like:
-the man with his dog at the bar! - the tight tables - happy waiters - Plat du Jour - poulet au Curry Riz - Galettes - Croque Monsoir - cafe creme, espresso and chocolat chaud!
